Facebook aiming for a bigger slice of the music industry with this new hire

Facebook has hired Tamara Hrivnak, former Director of Music Partnerships at YouTube and Google Play, to lead its global music strategy, according to Music Business Worldwide.

This news seems to hint that Facebook is ready to make a bigger name for itself in the music industry.

In a post on, fittingly, Facebook, Hrivnak noted that she's looking to “lead global music strategy and business development” and wants to deepen “Facebook’s relationship with the music industry.”

Music Business Worldwide reported last September that Facebook posted a job for Director of Global Music Licensing.
