Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift blend on pop-punk “Sugar, Calm Down” mashup
Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift don’t usually pop up in the same sentence unless you’re talking about the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. That, or you read that Fall Out Boy influenced Swift’s lyrics “more than anyone else.”
Regardless, if you love Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy as most of us do, then you’ll love this mashup of two of their most massive hits.

“I love Fall Out Boy so much,” Swift told with Rolling Stone. “Their songwriting really influenced me, lyrically, maybe more than anyone else. They take a phrase and they twist it. ‘Loaded God complex/ Cock it and pull it’? When I heard that, I was like, ‘I’m dreaming’.”

We do all know that “All Too Well” and “I’ve Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song)” are Swift’s and Fall Out Boy’s best songs so a mashup of the greatest fall and summer songs ever written would be a banger.

The impact that seemingly unrelated artists have on one another is simply incredible. Just recently, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy discussed how OutKast‘s “Hey Ya!” influenced their most recent song.
Speaking to RADIO.COM, Wentz reveals how FOB are always in search of a track similar to the OutKast hit.

“The song that we’re always in search of, to me, is ‘Hey Ya,’” Pete Wentz tells RADIO.COM. “That’s the song. It’s like this perfect song because it’s weird and you’ve never heard something like that before, but at the same time it feels like, warm and fuzzy, because it feels like something you have known. That’s what we’re on the search for.”
The search for such a track lead the band to Wyclef Jean.
“We talked to Wyclef about that, and this is the song he came up with. It’s got kind of a ska undertone to it, it’s a weird song. It works for Fall Out Boy and Wyclef together, which seems like it would never work on paper in a million years.”
This new track will appear on their upcoming Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die – Volume Two out Nov. 15 via Island. FOB previously released Volume One in Nov. 2009. Preorders are available here.
