Fall Out Boy are giving students the chance to create a new music video for “Young And Menace”

Current AP cover stars Fall Out Boy not only released a great new song, “Young And Menace,” but are also teaming up with a great project to make a one-of-a-kind new music video for the song.

They’re working with Music Choice to encourage high school students to submit videos to the All American High School Film Festival category titled Music Choice Presents: Fall Out Boy Music Video Challenge. (via Erie News Now)

For the contest, students are to create their own, unique music video concept for “Young And Menace,” taken from the band’s forthcoming record M A  N   I   A, which comes out Sept. 15, but you can preorder it now.

According to the Erie News Now, the winning video will air on the Music Choice App, Music Choice On Demand, and premiere at the All American High School Film Festival at the AMC Theaters in Times Square.

The deadline to submit a video is July 9, and submission rules are available here.

In the band’s current cover story, the guys discuss how they are striving to redefine their art, their fans and (not surprisingly) themselves. While it’s still too early to tell where they will arrive sonically and psychically, the next level is beckoning and everyone (band included) is going to be very surprised.

“This [record] is the most off-script we’ve gone,” Stump tells AP for the very first story on their new album. “I want to try to invent something, because life’s too short.”

They’ll be headed out on tour this fall, with the full list of cities and dates, as well as a link to purchase tickets, available here.
