Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane to host Oscars
The title of Oscars host is often bestowed upon those who spend their lives in front of the camera. However, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences broke tradition with today's announcement that Seth MacFarlane will host the Academy Awards. MacFarlane is best known as the creator of Family Guy and the director of this summer's teddy-bear comedy, Ted.
Although MacFarlene doesn't have an instantly recognizable face, he does have something that past hosts have lacked: He appeals to young people, a demographic the storied award show has struggled to capture.
