Documentary on fangirls, stans is coming to Fuse this year

Fuse is set to release a documentary all about what it’s like to be a fangirl, not that any of us need someone else’s perspective on that. I Used to Be Normal: A Boyband Fangirl Story will take viewers on a journey through the mind of a super fan, or “stan” for short.

The documentary is set to be a coming-of-age film and will focus on four women, all who stan different bands.

According to IMDb, the story will show what it is like to fangirl over bands like One Direction, Backstreet Boys, Take That and the Beatles.

According to Deadline, I Used to Be Normal: A Boyband Fangirl Story will also focus on the challenges and emotional turmoil fangirls go through. Judging from the bands listed, we can only expect to witness some tears.

That said, don’t act like you didn’t cry when MCR broke up.

The film is directed by Jessica Leski, who has also had her hand in projects such as the Ball and In The Shadows.

You can watch the trailer for the forthcoming documentary below.

I Used to Be Normal: A Boyband Fangirl Story will premiere on Fuse, May 18.

Additionally, Fuse is premiering two other documentaries. Fatherhood is about musicians who use music to fill the void between themselves and their fathers. The other, titled Sickboy is about three best friends who make a podcast to deal with their serious illnesses. The two films will debut on March 2 and April 6, respectively.
