Fans think those 'Spider-Man 3' title teasers confirm that casting rumor

It’s been a few days since Marvel fans last heard any updates about Spider-Man 3. So, of course, the internet was bombarded with teasers and clues pertaining to the upcoming film on Tuesday.

Before officially confirming the actual title of Spider-Man 3, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon trolled fans with fake movie titles. However, a new theory has emerged that those title teasers may have actually confirmed that major Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire casting rumor.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, rumors are swirling that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parkers will be making a return in Spider-Man 3. So far, both Marvel and Sony have denied these rumors despite a leaked Sony marketing teaser adding fuel to the rumor fire. More recently, Tom Holland also tried to shoot down the rumors. However, he failed to convince many fans with his explanation.

This week, Holland reinforced his initial comments about the casting rumor. During an interview on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actor continued to say that he doesn’t think Garfield and Maguire are in the new film. Why? Well, he’s read the entire script and they don’t appear in it. However, Holland later notes that Marvel have kept plot details from him in the past.

“It would be amazing if they were because they [Marvel] haven’t told me that yet,” Holland says. “And I am Spider-Man and I’ve read the script from beginning to the end so it would be a miracle if they could’ve kept that from me. At the moment, there is no cameo from the two boys.”

On Tuesday, Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon trolled fans about the film’s official title on social media. The three actors each announced fake titles for the upcoming movie – Spider-Man: Home Slice, Spider-Man: Phone Home and Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker.

However, some fans are convinced those fake movie titles actually have a deeper meaning. In fact, many are theorizing they actually confirm that Maguire and Garfield casting rumor. In the earlier films, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker was a pizza delivery boy while Andrew Garfield wrecked the lives of Gwen Stacy’s family. Both of these storylines relate back to the fake titles – Spider-Man: Home Slice and Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Phone Home may relate to Holland’s Peter Parker. As we all know, Holland’s Spider-Man has quite the habit of calling Tony Stark and Happy throughout the films.

Along with all of this, a massive detail regarding the film’s plot was recently uncovered. This week, a casting call for CL Casting announced a film titled The November Project is looking to cast extras for a courtroom scene in Georgia.

For those of you who don’t know, The November Project is one of the working titles for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The scene in question is looking for extras to play an attorney, a stenographer and a videographer. However, no other details have been released at this time. This latest news arrives shortly after rumors emerged that Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock may make an appearance in the new film.

Over the past few months, a lot of new information about Spider-Man: No Way Home has emerged. Along with Benedict Cumberbatch who is returning as Doctor Strange in the new film, Jamie Foxx is also reportedly returning as Electro. Similarly, Alfred Molina is rumored to be reprising his Doctor Octopus role. More recently, new rumors also surfaced that Willem Dafoe is back as Green Goblin.

According to a recent a 4chan leak, Spider-Man allegedly faces the repercussions of Scarlet Witch opening the multiverse at the end of WandaVision. Eventually, this causes Holland to unite with Garfield and Maguire’s Peter Parkers. Together, they must work together to defeat the villains from their past and, according to the leak, there are a lot of them in this new film.

However, the leak did say that the new film is called Spider-Man: Homeworlds which we now know isn’t the case. So it’s possible the details mentioned in this leak are far from how the film will actually play out.

Despite this, Sony did recently release a massive hint about the new film. Earlier this month, Sony shared a cryptic clue that alludes to one of the storylines in Spider-Man: No Way Home. By the looks of it, the upcoming movie is going to address that massive Far From Home cliffhanger with Mysterio and Peter Parker. As well, an eagle-eyed fan recently spotted a big detail on the set of Spider-Man 3 that may have confirmed a new villain is joining the MCU in the new movie.
