Despite being pushed back, it looks like it's almost go (go) time for the new Power Rangers movie. Director Dean Israelite tells IGN, “We're going to be shooting soon, so yes, I'm hoping news of that is going to come out in the next few months.”
“It needs to be completely playful, and it needs to be really fun and funny,” he adds on the film's tone. “I hope it's going to feel very grounded at the same time, and very contemporary and have a real edge to it, and a real gut to it.”
The movie's original release date was July 22, 2016, but after its delay, its now scheduled to hit heaters January 13, 2017.
Back in the '90s, the ranger squad had two feature films: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. What are you hoping to see out of their return to the big screen?
