As we previously reported, Five Finger Death Punch were involved in a seemingly never-ending legal battle with Prospect Park Records, the label that's issued most of the group's albums. Theprp.com noted in May that 5FDP sued Prospect Park in effort to be released from their contract with the label, while also seeking a million dollars in damages. In 2016, the band signed with Rise Records to release new material—a deal that was apparently thwarted by their legal proceedings with Prospect Park.

Now, it's reported that the lawsuit between Five Finger Death Punch, Prospect Park and the band's former manager, Jeff Kwatinetz, has been settled. An exclusive statement from the band to Variety revealed the news on Monday:

“The band Five Finger Death Punch and its label, Prospect Park, have resolved their dispute and differences. The band and the label are excited to announce the release of a greatest hits album with two new songs in December 2017 and the release of a new record next year. The band is very proud of the new record and looks forward to releasing it and playing for its fans.”

You read that right! Not one but two new releases from 5FDP are on the way: A greatest hits collection (with two new songs) due in December, and a new studio album coming in 2018. Certainly, the positive announcement must seem a breath of fresh air for the band and their fans.

As Five Finger Death Punch posted on Twitter and Instagram on Monday, “Lawsuit settled, greatest hits plus two new songs in December, new album coming this spring. What a better way to start the week.”
