After delays due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Rock Hall finally held its 2020 induction ceremony in November. Although there were no musical performances, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston and Nine Inch Nails were among the artists inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Now, it looks like the Rock Hall is already making preparations for its 2021 ceremony. On Wednesday, the official list of artists nominated to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame was announced. Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Iron Maiden, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, New York Dolls and Carole King are among the artists nominated this year.
According to the Rock Hall, 2021 marks the first year seven of the 16 artists have been nominated for the induction ceremony. Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden and Jay-Z are among the artists on this particular list.

All of these 16 artists first became eligible for the Rock Hall nomination 25 years after the release of their first official recording. 2021’s nominations list is particularly historic as this is the first time ever seven of the 16 nominations are led by women.
“This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates,” John Sykes, Chairman of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation says. “These Nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them.”
For Dave Grohl, this is his second opportunity to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Back in 2014, Grohl, Krist Novoselic and the late Kurt Cobain were officially inducted as Nirvana.
