Foo Fighters explain injury that led to rescheduled tour dates

A little over a week ago, Foo Fighters announced that some of their tour dates would have to be rescheduled following a “band member injury.” However, Dave Grohl has come forward and clarified the injury in question.

According to Billboard, a conversation between Grohl and Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino reveals that the Foo Fighters frontman actually underwent surgery on his arm.

Grohl admits that this is something that he has had to deal with for a while. However, the frontman assures fans that it’s “not the end of the world.”

“This is something I’ve had to deal with for a long time and it’s not the end of the world but I did have to have surgery on my arm because I need it to pay the rent,” Grohl says. “I knew I had to fix my arm at some point and I went ahead and did it.”

Following that, Grohl says that having the time off has been really nice.

“It’s funny having surgery because you actually get a little bit of rest,” Grohl says. “Right before they wheeled me in, the guys said ‘hey, we’re going to give you something that’s going to make you feel really good’ and I thought, ‘I finally get to take a nap.’”

Foo Fighters recently rescheduled their New Orleans shows for mid-May. The concerts were originally slated for Feb. 15 and 16 as part of the Fillmore New Orleans location’s opening weekend.
