Foo Fighters shut down entire city block for surprise show

Saturday night (May 17), surprise show enthusiasts and general badasses Foo Fighters played a surprise set at Preservation Hall with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The surprise show ended up shutting down an entire city block of New Orleans' St. Peter Street, Billboard reports. The 90-minute show featured such Foo classics as “Times Like These,” “My Hero,” “Learn to Fly,” “Big Me” and “These Days.”

Foo Fighters, who normally fill arenas and stadiums, topped off several days of recording at Preservation Hall with the blowout that shut down the 700 block of St. Peter Street. Apparently, Anderson Cooper, who was shooting a profile on the band, was in the audience recording footage. Check out footage of the performance below, and let us know what you think.

Foo Fighters recently announced their eighth studio album. Dave Grohl & Co. will be getting their own HBO series documenting the creation of the album.
