Foxfires (ex-Four Year Strong, Escapist Records) stream new song, "An Odyssey"

Foxfires, the hardcore band fronted by former Four Year Strong keyboardist Josh Lyford, have premiered “An Odyssey” from their debut studio album, Pinetum. Here's what Lyford has to say about the new song:

“There can be a lot of conflict between who you were, who you are, and who you want to be. “An Odyssey” is a conversation on the centrifugal forces surrounding the positives and negatives of life. The saying 'two steps forward one step back' becomes a little too real as you get older. You have to make sure those steps are in sync. You have to pick your battles a bit differently. You can look at it as a negative, or you can look at it as a challenge. Life tends to mandate swift change, what change do you look for, and how can you look at it a bit more tactically?”

Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, the crew recorded Pinetum with Will Killingsworth (Orchid) at Dead Air Studios (Cruel Hand, Mental, Panic) and mastered with Carl Saff at Saff Mastering (Paint It Black, Iron Chic, A Wilhelm Scream). It follows their seven-inch, the Golden Age, also released on Escapist Records.
