Get ready to break out your classic aerobic tight pants and leg warmers. Frank Iero And The Future Violents dropped a jazzy new video for “Medicine Square Garden.”

“Medicine Square Garden” is from the 2019 album Barriers and will be the last video made from the album.

Last week, Frank Iero posted a few teasers that something would be coming, today, April 20. They included a lipstick with sunglasses, a VHS tape, some nail polish and a jazzercise group. All of which ties into the “Medicine Square Garden” video.

But, if you think that this is just a run-of-the-mill music video featuring a band wearing matching outfits and a spunky exercising trio, you’re very, very wrong.

All of which is fine for the first five minutes of the nearly six-minute video. But just near the end, it all goes awry with an extraterrestrial encounter. If you’re confused by that sentence we’ll say it plainer—Frank Iero And The Future Violents get viciously slaughtered by GWAR

Speaking on the song , Iero says it is the statement piece on the record. If they could pull of “Medicine Square Garden,” they could do anything.

“It was apparent to me early on while writing Barriers that ‘Medicine Square Garden’ was its most important track,” Iero says “It was the cornerstone upon which the rest of the record and band was formed. If we lost the battle on that song, the rest didn’t stand a chance. ‘Medicine Square Garden’ pushed the most boundaries, scratched the most itches, and terrified me far beyond any other song I had written. So when we crossed off every box in Chicago at Electrical Audio and listened back with smiles knowing we had accomplished our goals, a new objective soon emerged: Get the label to see our favorite song as a single, and let us make the video of my dreams.”

Iero says he has the idea for the video already planned out. The tough part was getting the label to approve.

“‘Medicine Square Garden’ is not your typical single. It’s a five and a half minute attempt at answering the question, ‘What if Prince wrote a Sleep song?'” Frank Iero elaborates. “Oh and if that’s not batshit enough for you, I already had the video in my head. So armed with crudely drawn set designs and a typed-up description of a witchy calisthenics workout meets a Robert Palmer alien massacre, I submitted my pitch to the label. This was my vision from the beginning and no one told me I was crazy. What a world.”

Our official video for Medicine Square Garden is now live. Directed by @mygoodeyevisuals starring amazingly talented individuals from this world and another. From the moment we started writing Barriers I knew MSG was an important song for us. And when we finally finished recording it in Chicago a video accompaniment came into my head… but how could i ever convince anyone to make this?!? A new challenge emerged. Thank you @cahertyny @fcald and everyone at @unfdcentral for never telling me to my face that I was crazy and for letting me make the video of my dreams a reality. And thank you @mygoodeyevisuals for once again actually putting those dreams on film. Often you may hear tales of support from labels and management, but all too often those pats on the back fade or get reigned in so much that they dilute the original batshit crazy into palatable commercials. I have never felt that pressure with this team and for that I am forever indebted. Thank you. enjoi. xofrnk https://youtu.be/QJDtIefuW_Y #FIATFV.
