What does Frank Iero have in store with this cryptic tease?

Frank Iero is teasing something for next Monday. But it’s not just any old Monday, it’s April 20.

In the teaser, Iero tagged all of the members of the Future Violents so we can assume it’s something fun from that project. It could be a new music video or even a new song.

Back in February, Frank Iero And The Future Violents released a music video for their popular track from 2019’s Barriers, “Basement Eyes.”

He’s also been busy teasing his My Chemical Romance setup, teaching his daughter to play bass and teaching all of us how to play some iconic MCR riffs on guitar.

Now though, instead of looking at the past, we have something to look forward to in the future.

The teaser image that Iero posted shows a pair of sunglasses with “4” and “20” written on each lens. The crimson lipstick is in a gold tube that is left open in front of the shades. Frank Iero tagged the members of the Future Violents including Evan Nestor, former Murder By Death bassist Matt Armstrong, multi-instrumentalist Kayleigh Goldsworthy from Dave Hause And The Mermaid and Thursday’s Tucker Rule.

Iero also tagged the independent record label UNFD

Whatever Frank Iero is teasing, it’s bound to be good.

If you haven’t yet, check out “Basement Eyes” below. Speaking on the song, Iero said it’s about creative passion and refusing to let that die.

It’s [“Basement Eyes”] about the feeling you get when starting something new and the fire that burns inside the creative mind” Iero says. “That fire pushes us forward. It urges us to continue making things not for the hope of fame or glory or the pursuit of monetary reward, but because it is a necessity for survival.”

“The saddest thing about getting older is watching that fire go out or dull in other people’s eyes. Living a creative life, we tend to gravitate towards other likeminded people. Real recognizes real. Sometimes you start bands together or collaborate in some way. Sometimes just being around one another is enough.”

“Even though these partnerships may be fleeting, you tend to continue in a strange orbit, occasionally meeting again somewhere along the way. Time passes, life happens, and I have seen people I hung out in basements who neglect their fires. Like a body needs vitamins and nutrients, our souls need to create. When that fire is extinguished, the hunger dies. ‘Basement Eyes’ is a song about that experience.”
