The guitar company is making a donation to the MusiCares fund for every artist who makes a check-in video like Iero’s.

A few weeks back, The Recording Academy and MusiCares announced a new initiative to assist everyone working in the music industry currently being affected by the pandemic.

The fund aims to help industry workers impacted by the economic losses during the pandemic.

Further, all Recording Academy Chapters are committing to fundraising in local communities. They’ll also be hosting virtual concerts to crowdfund.

Now, Frank Iero is offering something for fans of My Chemical Romance to check out with a video going deep into his guitar parts. In the video, he starts off by explaining how Fender got in touch with him and talking about the MusiCares fund. From there, he talks about the guitar parts for the two tracks while giving some personal thoughts about the songs.

You can watch the clip below.

The guitarist also shared a video last week showing him teaching one of his twin daughters Cherry how to play the bass.

In the post, Iero reveals he was “shocked” when Cherry said she wanted to learn how to play the bass and let her pick which song to learn. She went with an obvious choice with  “Welcome To The Black Parade.”

Fender also did an extra initiative during the pandemic to give people something to do by offering free guitar lessons.

“With everything happening in the world, music has the power to connect us,” reads the statement on the Fender site. “We want to do our part to see you through–the way we know how.”
