The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has impacted Thursday’s 2020 plans. Due to the pandemic, Thursday weren’t even able to announce the tour dates they had scheduled. To make it all up to fans, however, Thursday are now playing a special livestream gig to replace the tour that didn’t happen.

Cursive and And So I Watch You From Afar are supporting the virtual gig. And So I Watch You From Afar are performing a new set while Cursive’s set was filmed in October 2019 at St Vitus, New York.

Alongside Thursday, Iero is filling in on guitar. The My Chemical Romance member took to social media over the weekend to announce his involvement in the upcoming livestream.

“I am honored and beyond excited to have been asked to play with my extended family, @thursdayband. And fill in for the very talented @tom_keeleyiii at the band’s first ever virtual festival – Signals V1 on Wednesday 19th August with Cursive + And So I Watch You From Afar.”

“I will do my best to honor Tom’s incredible guitar playing and do these songs the justice they deserve in his absence,” Iero continues. “Getting to play songs that I have been a fan of for years, some of which I even got to witness being written at our shared practice space in Passaic Park, is surreal and a total dream come true. I can’t wait to play with my friends and beam it all to you in your homes around the globe.”

Both My Chemical Romance and Thursday have a long history with each other. Thursday’s frontman Geoff Rickly even produced MCR’s debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love
