According to the game's website: “Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees.”

The Friday The 13th: The Game's original release date was pushed back to add fan-requested features.

Those new features included a single-player experience (although, according to Polygon, this won’t make it in time for launch and it’s scheduled to be released this summer); artificial intelligence (AI) bots; Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, A New Beginning and Jason Lives' Tommy Jarvis as a playable character and a playable game map of setting Crystal Lake's Packanack Lodge.

The Friday The 13th game started as a Kickstarter campaign in 2015. It's produced by Gun Media in conjunction with IllFonic.

The game will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and Steam, and they announced that they are also working on a retail release that will cost $59.99, according to Polygon, with details on that version coming “down the road.”
