Fueled By Ramen bands support Andy Mrotek with "We Love The Butcher" benefit t-shirt

Cobra Starship, The Academy Is…, Gym Class Heroes, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco are releasing a t-shirt with all proceeds going to Andy “The Butcher” Mrotek to help pay his medical bills.

Mrotek, former drummer of The Academy Is…, was assaulted last month in the Humboldt Park area of Milwaukee, WI.

Those who want to contribute by buying the “We Love The Butcher” t-shirt, can order it through the Fueled By Ramen webstore.

A note from former Academy Is… member Adam Siska details what Mrotek has had to endure in the aftermath of the assault and the inspiration behind the benefit shirt:

“He ended up with both his eye sockets fractured, 25 stitches across his face, 30 stitches on his gum line, 20 stiches [sic] on his eyelids, 3 titanium plates screwed into his skull and has been in and out of the ER for surgery and countless doctors checkups for nose bleeding and intense ear/sinus/facial pain. Like many Americans, Andy is without Health Insurance coverage. Each day as he is making strides to physically and emotionally recover from this experience, his hospital bills continue to grow and grow.

The members and former members of The Academy Is…, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, Fall Out Boy & Panic! At the Disco built a very strong bond over our years of making music and touring the world together. We all want to see to it that The Butcher is able to continue making music and art that inspires us— instead of spending his days trying to pay off a never ending debt due to this tragic event. The 5 of us have put our collective efforts together to bring you this shirt.”
