Fyre Festival catastrophe is getting its own feature film
The disastrous Fyre Festival already had a few documentaries made about it, but now it’s getting a full feature film.
According to Deadline, the currently untitled film will be based on the 2017 Vanity Fair article detailing the massive failure.

The film is set to be directed by Tim Wardle who directed Three Identical Strangers and written by Emily Jerome.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on casting choices at the moment. It’s also not clear whether notable characters involved like Maryann Rolle or Andy King will show up either.
The film is currently being shopped around to different studios and has been optioned by Beau Flynn’s New Line/Warner Bros-based FlynnPictureCo.
More Fyre Festival
Just last week, it was announced Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland is writing a memoir from prison. The book, titled Promythus: The God Of Fire, was scheduled for an April release but still hasn’t surfaced.
The documentaries about the festival have also caused a lot of controversies, including a lawsuit filed by an attendee against Netflix. The attendee, Clarissa Cardenas, claims she shot the video at the festival and Netflix used it in the Fyre documentary.
Also, festival co-head Ja Rule apparently wants to try for a round 2 of Fyre.
“In the midst of chaos is opportunity. I’m working on a lot of new things,” Ja Rule said. He called Fyre Fest “the most iconic festival that never was, adding that he has “plans to create the iconic music festival.”
The festival is attempting to pay back the debt it owes by auctioning off merchandise from the event. McFarland owes roughly $26 million to festival goers so all of these extra plans may be necessary at this time.
