Fyre Festival founder, ‘Jersey Shore’ star are prison pals

Alright get ready for this one — apparently, Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from Jersey Shore are friends in prison.

Both the men are currently serving sentences at Otisville Federal Correctional  Institution in Otisville, New York.

While Sorrentino is behind bars for eight months regarding tax evasion, McFarland has a six year sentence. He pleaded guilty for fraud charges in relation to the festival disaster.

According to Vinny Guadagnino and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio says Sorrentino and McFarland love to play Scrabble together. They also apparently hang with Ryan Collins, who is serving 18 months for hacking celebrity email accounts. He leaked nude photos of Ariana Grande, Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence.

You can see Vinny and Pauly’s full interview about the Sitch’s life in prison below.

In case you forgot, Fyre Festival was advertised as “the unparalleled best in music, cuisine, design and hospitality on a private island in the Exumas.”

However, according to patrons, the experience was anything but luxurious and ended with a plethora of lawsuits.

Fyre Festival attendees arrived to inadequate basic necessities—including food, housing and electricity—never mind the luxurious promises. Guests became stranded as they tried to evacuate the island due to an extreme lack of organization and infrastructure.

Fyre Festival has gotten a lot of buzz recently since Netflix and Hulu released documentaries about the event. McFarland and rapper Ja Rule created the event and booking company, Fyre Media, which put it on.

Apparently, Ja Rule wasn’t satisfied and is planning another Fyre Festival-like party.

McFarland allegedly owes $26 million in debt to various people, so to pay some of that off, Fyre-branded merch is being auctioned off.

At Fyre Festival, blink-182 were schedule to play the festival, but canceled both their performances for logistical issues. In fact, the band might be the reason behind the festival’s failure in the first place, even though it’s probably not true.

As far as Jersey Shore news, we don’t have much. However, we did make this list about why the cast are secretly scene kids, which you should check out.
