Gerard Way releases stand-alone 'Doom Patrol' guest issue
If you follow Gerard Way‘s work in the comic book world, you’re going to be very excited about the latest Doom Patrol issue.
The comic series is receiving a special stand-alone issue in the series written by DC imprint Young Animal’s Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad.

The My Chemical Romance frontman announced the new comic on his Instagram account earlier today.
Doom Patrol: Weight of The Worlds Issue 5— Out now!
“Hey all, we have a very special issue of Doom Patrol here. This is a guest issue with a fantastic story by Young Animal family member Becky Cloonan along with Michael Conrad. Stunning art by Becky (she told me this is the first full standard comic issue she has drawn since Killjoys!), as always— wonderful colors by Tamra Bonvillain, and awesome lettering by Simon Bowland,” his post reads.

The musician, artist and writer clarified the credits on the cover giving proper credit where credit is due.
“Despite the names on the cover, Jeremy and Nick and I didn’t create this issue, as this is a stand-alone story, and an idea that Becky and Michael had for a while that they were very passionate about. It’s incredibly fun and meta as hell. If you haven’t been following DP WOTW you can still enjoy this issue. Check it out! Just ignore the credits printing error on the cover, but enjoy the cover image by Becky and Tamra!”
