Gerard Way shares 'Umbrella Academy' trailer—watch

Umbrella Academy is officially in stores, and Gerard Way is celebrating it by releasing a book trailer.

Announced a few months ago, Gerard Way’s comic book series was getting picked up by Dark Horse Comics for the release of the book’s third installment The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion.

Yesterday, Way started celebrating the release yesterday, Oct. 2, by sharing posting a sweet message on Instagram about the new comic.

“I’m having a hard time containing my excitement over the fact that something named ‘oblivion’ is actually the start of so many new things!” Way writes. “It’s a story about time and age and mistakes and redemption.”

Plus, he decided to add a “few extras to the experience” by posting snippets on his Instagram page.

Now, he is sharing a Hotel Oblivion book trailer, and it’s making us even more excited to finally read the story. I mean, it’s not like it took almost 10 years for the new series to come out or anything…

“Welcome to the Hotel…Oblivion!” Way writes. “Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion #1 is out now!”

“We made this trailer for #fun and to give you an idea of what to expect from this definitive moment for UA!” he continues.

Umbrella Academy TV show

Plus, there’s an Umbrella Academy TV show coming soon. Way recently shared the first official look of the Netflix adaptation.

The singer shared the new promo with the caption: “Check it out! Super excited that everything keeps moving at an amazing pace for our Netflix Umbrella Academy series!”

It was previously thought that the new show would be making its small screen debut sometime in 2018, but it looks like it won’t be coming until 2019, according to the show’s official Twitter that is.

We can’t wait for the new show, even if we have to wait another year.

Mary J. BligeKate Walsh (13 Reasons WhyGrey’s Anatomy,) Ellen Page,  Tom Hopper (Game Of Thrones), Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Gallagher will be featured on Way’s forthcoming TV show adaptation of his comic book series the Umbrella Academy.

The story follows the family as they “work together to solve their father’s mysterious death while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.”

Way officially that the announced the project would officially be headed to Netflix, with a reported 10-episode series, back in July.

“I am thrilled that the Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix,” Way said. “I couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Bá and myself had when creating the comic and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live-action show.”
