Gerard Way says he "can't remember a time where voting felt so extremely vital"

Musicians haven't shied away from revealing their opinions on the 2016 Presidential Election, and Gerard Way, former vocalist for My Chemical Romance, is no different. The singer took to his blog October 4 and shared his thoughts on the election and the issues facing it.

“I'm almost 40, and I can't remember a time in my life where voting felt so extremely vital,” wrote Way.

Way didn't endorse a specific candidate but wrote about an issue important to him, which is people getting addicted to perscription painkillers.

“Too many people are gripped in the powerful hold of prescription painkillers, and we need to seek every alternative option as the corporations continue to lobby for getting more pills in our hands,” Way writes.

Way will be at the 2016 New York Comic Con talking about his work with DC's Young Animal, along with his two series Doom Patrol and Cave Carson has a Cybernetic Eye.
