Gerard Way to be musical guest at puppet show fundraiser

Former My Chemical Romance guitarist, Ray Toro, will be joining Gerard Way at “Puppets For Puppetry” for a Labyrinth movie tribute.

From singing in My Chemical Romance to writing awesome comic books to appearing in children's shows, Gerard Way is never one to shy away from different types of media.

Case in point: Way has been announced as the special musical guest for a puppetry fundraiser. Check out the details below.

“Puppets For Puppetry” is a fundraising event that will raise money for The Center For Puppetry Arts while honoring legendary puppeteer Dave Goelz. Hosted by the Jim Henson Company with support from the one-and-only Muppet Studio, the event will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 in Hollywood, CA. Led by the Tony-award nominee John Tartaglia, “Puppets For Puppetry” will feature special guests, including Way.

Tickets are available here and range from $250 and $20,000.

The Center For Puppetry Arts is based in Atlanta, GA and aims “to inspire imagination, education and community through the global art of puppetry” (via PRNewswire).

My Chemical Romance will re-release their iconic album The Black Parade on Friday, Sept. 23—a month before its tenth anniversary.
