Ghost band news recap

It looks like there might be some new material from masked Swedish metalheads Ghost very soon! The band’s frontman, Cardinal Copia aka Tobias Forge, shares the news with ROCK 100.5, as pointed out by And he also speaks of a wish to record a live, visual album with the band, should ideal conditions present themselves.

Following last summer’s fourth studio album, Prequelle, Forge plays his cards close to his chest when describing an imminent Ghost release that, according to the musician, won’t simply be stopgap release of cover songs.

“My intention is not to release just another EP of covers,” says the Ghost frontman formerly known as Papa Emeritus. “There might be something else coming out next year, maybe, that might have been recorded already, that won’t be covers.”

Not to mention, what sounds like a thrilling live concert film from the band could be on the horizon! However, the Ghost figurehead has a very long list of requirements that would need to be realized for such a production to be undertaken.

“If the production on the live front gets to the point where I want it to be, and if we happen to play two dates at a venue that caters to the full production and it’s somewhere geographically where there’s an audience who is very, very, very avid and very lively, I would love to record a film—a live, visual capture,” explains Forge.
