It looks like we are closer than ever to finally hearing some new music from Green Day.
This weekend, Green Day are debuting their brand new song “Here Comes The Shock” and there’s only one way you can hear it before the rest of the world.
Green Day fans have been treated to a lot of new music over the past few months. Back in November, Billie Joe Armstrong put out No Fun Mondays, an LP made up of the iconic covers he performed in quarantine.
As well, the Network, which is totally not Green Day, released their first album in over 15 years back in December. The mysterious band followed up 2004’s Money Money 2020 with the staggering 25-track album Money Money 2020 Pt II: We Told Ya So!
Now, it looks like it’s finally time for Green Day to debut some new tunes. This time around, however, they are giving some fans the chance to hear their new song before the rest of the world.
On Saturday, Feb. 20, the trio are releasing their new single “Here Comes The Shock” exclusively during the NHL Lake Tahoe game. If you want to be one of the first fans to hear the new song, you’re going to have to tune in for the game at 3 P.M. ET on NBC.
According to Billboard, “Here Comes The Shock” will premiere within a highlight reel of the top plays of the first quarter of the 2020-21 NHL season. After the NHL premiere, “Here Comes The Shock” will be released in North America on Sunday, Feb. 21 followed by the rest of the world on Feb. 22.
“LOUD season has returned,” Green Day say. “We’re stoked ‘Here Comes The Shock’ will soundtrack the NHL’s return to the outdoors!”
Get ready to rip! New song “Here Comes The Shock” out Sunday in North America + the rest of the world on Monday.

Alongside Green Day, the two regular-season outdoor games will also feature Pentatonix. On Feb. 21, they will be remotely performing the national anthem before the NHL game. As part of a two-year-deal with the NHL, Green Day’s music will be featured through the rest of the 2021 season.
All of this is in preparation for their rescheduled Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer. Last month, Rivers Cuomo revealed that Weezer are still gearing up for the tour which kicks off on June 9 in Austria.
