Green Day teases ‘Dookie’ set at upcoming gig with cheeky hints

Green Day celebrated the 25th anniversary of what became their breakthrough album Dookie in February. Now, it appears the punk legends will be playing that album in full next week.

Green Day announced a one-off, small-venue show (only 2,500 capacity) in Madrid next week. Since the announcement, there have been some serious clues pointing to Green Day playing Dookie front-to-back at the Spanish venue La Riviera.

Reddit is known for either figuring things out or being entirely wrong with its speculation. For instance, the Game of Thrones spoilers posted to Reddit before the series finale were entirely correct, however disappointing they might have been.

Thus, Reddit speculated that Green Day would be playing Dookie in full at this Madrid show and many seem to believe them.

Billie Joe Armstrong has since been a bit cheeky with his social media to perhaps tease the news and prove speculations correct.

Armstrong posted a winking emoji on the Instagram fan account @greendayitalianrageandlove. The winking emoji was in response to the post shown below that asks “Would you like to hear the entire Dookie live?”

But, Armstrong pretty much confirmed all rumors true with his Instagram story post shown below. Billie Joe posted a zoomed-in shot of the Dookie album artwork with an emoji of the Spanish flag right over top.
