Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer just postponed a number of their upcoming European shows on the Hella Mega Tour

The news comes in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that is absolutely decimating the music industry and everything else. The pandemic was the reason the trio of bands had to postpone the first leg of the tour in Asia this past February.

Just yesterday, AltPress reported that Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz knew about as much about the status of the Hella Mega Tour dates as we did. “Now it’s like we’re circling waiting to land,” Wentz said. “Nobody knows anything and it’s hard because we really want to do this tour[…] I know as much as you do about what’s going to happen with it.”

Now, all three bands issued a statement on their social media profiles regarding the postponement.

There’s nothing that makes our bands happier than playing shows, and maybe no other tour that we’ve all been this excited for, but due to the current health crisis, we’re having to postpone a number of our European shows.

We’re just as disappointed as you are, but the safety of our fans, staff and touring crew is our top priority. We’re working hard to finalize dates for the rescheduled shows next summer, so hold on to those tickets.

Keep rocking…safely…at home
