The song’s debut will kick off a two-year “cross-platform marketing and promotional” partnership between the NHL and Green Day, according to a press release. The song will be the first time fans will get a taste of the second single on the upcoming record.

The game, which will show the New Jersey Devils taking on the Philadelphia Flyers, will take place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will air on NBCSN. Besides the kick-off montage, the video will be features on various NHL on NBC broadcast throughout the upcoming season.

Various songs from the band’s upcoming album will be features on game highlights, tune-in campaigns and on jumbotrons in different NHL arenas. Besides just the rights to the different songs on broadcasts, the partnership includes live performances and other collaborations.

Green Day is set to perform at the NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis, MO on January 25.

“Green Day is the perfect band for the NHL. Their music fits so perfectly with the energy, speed and power that we witness on the ice and each and every night,” Steve Mayer, the NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President, said. “We are so excited to start this partnership with the NBC Sports open. It was so much fun to shoot and we think our fans will love it.”

Green Day also said the NHL season will now be known as “LOUD season”.

“Where the toughest athletes to ever lace up a pair of skates meet the baddest rock band on the planet. So turn up the volume on your TV sets, fire, ready, aim and enjoy the ride,” the band said in a statement.

Along with the major announcement, the NHL released a teaser that shows a short clip of the new Green Day track. You can see that below.

The band revealed their upcoming album by dropping its title track when the Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer was announced. It’s the followup to 2016’s Revolution Radio and the band’s thirteenth studio album. You can preorder it here.
