Green Day side-project the Coverups announce show with the Interrupters
Between their upcoming album Father of All… and the Hella Mega tour, one would assume Green Day’s schedule would be packed as humanly possible, but the trio has always been far more than human.
In January 2018, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt were joined by touring guitarist Jason White, tour manager Bill Schneider and audio engineer Chris Dugan as they performed a secret show in Albany, CA at the Ivy Room under the name the Coverups.

The Coverups announced their return today with a show Dec. 6 at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa. Joining them are the Interrupters, One Less Zero, Dead Mermaids and Dead Sound.
Green Day drummer Tré Cool commented, “Holy shit! I can’t wait!” insinuating his possible first appearance behind the kit for the Coverups.
The Coverups recently played a special show at Oakland, California’s annual 40th Street Block Party in July. They performed covers from classic punk and rock bands including the Misfits, Ramones, the Clash, Nirvana, David Bowie and more. Check out a video below.

The rock trio are set to release their 13th studio album Father of All… on Feb. 7, 2020 via Reprise/ Warner. The title single was released in Sep. followed by a dance-packed music video.
Green Day released their second single “Ready, Aim, Fire” in a video montage that aired ahead of a New Jersey Devils verses Philadelphia Flyers game on NBCSN in October.

The track will continue to be featured on NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey and NHL on NBC broadcasts.
Following the release of their new album, Green Day will be hitting the road on a massive stadium tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer, along with openers the Interrupters. The Hella Mega tour kicks off June 13 in Paris before running throughout Europe, the U.K. and North America.
