Christmas came early for Green Day fans. The present? A new music video for “Youngblood,” off the band’s 2016 album Revolution Radio.

The video takes us behind the scenes on the band’s latest Revolution Radio tour. They give us an idea of what life on tour is like for Green Day and it looks pretty awesome.

Plus, some amazing shots of fans going crazy on the show and a bunch of cute moments the band shared with their young listeners.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently opened up about the experience of writing one of the bands most famous tracks, “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).” Armstrong discussed the process of writing the 1997 track with with Krissy Teegerstrom of the Beyond + Back’ podcast.

“I had no intention of starting any kind of acoustic thing with Green Day, and I just wrote it, it was just sort of, like, from the heart to the four-track,” Armstrong said. “You make these decisions…well, you can stay in your comfort zone or you can try doing this song…put it out there and see what happens.”

He then continued on the say:

“I remember the first time I ever sang it live. We were somewhere on the east coast, we’re on the Nimrod tour, and then I was like ‘Ok, I’m gonna sing this song. I’m gonna do it’.”

While he was a little apprehensive and “totally” scared about playing the track, with the support of the band and a little bit of courage, he was able to play the song in front of the crowd.

Green Day’s plans for 2019

In other Green Day news, Armstrong also recently revealed during a recent Instagram live stream that the band would be working on new music for the new year!

The moment was revealed after fans quickly took notice that Billie Joe himself had chimed in on the conversation.

“I’m writing new songs for gd now,” the frontman revealed on the live stream.
