Green Day announce details for 'Heart Like A Hand Grenade' documentary

As you may or may not know, Green Day are releasing a documentary, entitled Heart Like A Hand Grenade, that provides a behind-the-scenes look at their time writing and recording their beloved 2004 release, American Idiot. Until now, specifics have been scarce outside of a trailer that was released late last month, but the band has since announced the release details for the feature.

Teaming with Abramorama, Reprise Records and Vimeo, the documentary will see a theatrical release across more than 135 screens on October 15. The following day it will be released digitally via VimeoOn Demand and then in theaters across the world on November 11, playing in such countries as Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, the U.K. and many more. Finally, on November 13, Heart Like A Hand Grenade will be available to purchase digitally and on DVD through Reprise Records.

“We can't believe this was shot over a decade ago. Little did we know that this was only the beginning of the adventure this record would go on to be,” said Billie Joe Armstrong. “We are stoked for our fans to see this footage for the first time and watch us try and figure it all out.”
