Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has taken to Instagram to share a photo of himself in front of a vocal microphone with the caption “January 2016.” Check it out:

Is the photo Armstrong’s way of telling us Green Day are in the studio recording new music? According to Green Day Authority, this matches the January recording timeframe that they’ve heard.

Green Day’s previous album trilogy, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, was released in succession at the end of 2012. They surprised fans with a new Christmas song, “Xmas Time Of The Year,” on Dec. 24.
