Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong shares why he won't write any songs about Donald Trump

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong has not shied away from his negative opinion of Donald Trump and it continued in an interview he recently did with Q.

Armstrong told the magazine that there is not a single song about Donald Trump on their new album, Revolution Radio, which recently debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

“I made sure of that, because he inspires me to do nothing,” said Armstrong, “Trump has dragged politics into the gutter, like a WWE wrestling match.”

This is far from the first time that Armstrong talked about his opinions regarding the Republican nominee for president. At a show in New Jersey, Armstrong bashed Trump and Chris Christie. He also changed the lyrics to both “American Idiot” and “Know Your Enemy.”

Armstrong also compared Trump to Hitler in an interview he did with a Kerrang.

“He just said, ‘You have no options and I’m the only one, and I’m going to take care of it myself.’ I mean, that’s fucking Hitler, man!” said Armstrong.

However, it did not take Trump's campaign for the presidency for Armstrong to begin to dislike him. In 2011, the Green Day frontman tweeted about Trump several times. Check out the tweets below:
