Back in May, Grimes and Musk welcomed their first child together, a son named X Æ A-X12. Soon after the baby’s arrival, however, the couple ran into a few speed bumps with their baby’s name. While the internet debated on the couple’s name decision, Musk and Grimes changed their son’s name to X Æ A-Xii after it was revealed that numerals cannot appear on official birth certificates.
Then, once the name drama settled, Musk shared one of the first photos of his son on Twitter. The July 20 post shows the Tesla CEO holding the newborn along with a caption in German. When translated, it says “the baby cannot use a spoon yet.” Naturally, the post led to a slew of memes about the son’s name.

Now, Grimes is giving fans another rare look into her life as a new parent. This week, she posted a new photo of X Æ A-Xii and it looks like he is already taking after his father. The baby can be seen looking at a child’s book that is all about, of course, space. The photo was originally shared on Grimes’ Instagram story, but it eventually spread across the internet.

Along with being new parents, both Musk and Grimes have been working on other things. Back in mid-November, Musk’s SpaceX launched its second crew of astronauts to the International Space Station with the help of NASA. However, Musk was sidelined from personally attending the event after reportedly contracting coronavirus.
After taking various inconclusive tests, he shared a series of tweets that questioned the accuracy of the rapid COVID-19 tests. The tweets eventually earned responses from medical professionals including one doctor who gave Musk the nickname “Space Karen.” The new nickname eventually caused a flood of memes to spread online.
As well, back in July, we learned that Musk is teaming up with Tom Cruise and NASA to film the first-ever movie in space. According to Deadline, the project has a staggering $200 million budget to make it happen.
As for Grimes, she recently came under fire after her record label Crystal Math Music Inc. was named in a Canadian non-profit artists fund. According to the records, Grimes was granted over $90,000 in artist relief funding. The news eventually sparked a debate on who should be eligible to receive this form of aid.
