Grimes might have confused us more with her baby name explanation
The world is already well aware that Elon Musk and Grimes had a child. They’re a healthy baby boy with an unusual name, which in the past 24 hours, the internet has had a field day with.
When Musk announced the birth and name of the child on May 5, Grimes was most likely recovering from birthing a child and was off of social media. Today, May 6, she’s attempted to explain the name, only making it more confusing.

Elon Musk took to Twitter shortly after the birth of his sixth child to share the great news with the world. Both the child and Grimes were “all good.”
It was a few moments later that the torrential wave of confusion swept the world when Musk was asked the name of the child.
“X Æ A-12 Musk,” Elon Musk tweeted. The internet took off. Memes were flung around left and right, people were trying to figure out the name and looking the Math/Confused lady meme.

The most accurate of guesses seems to be that it is pronounced “X Ash Archangel Musk.” Elon Musk liked a tweeted that purposed this idea.
Another idea put forward is similar with the “X” being added to the Æ and being pronounced “Sasha.”
The Æ is believed to be derived from the Latin diphthong ae. It is pronounced “ash.” The A-12 comes from the CIA aircraft the Lockheed A-12, codenamed Archangel.
Well, now Grimes has spoken about the name on her Twitter and while she cleared up that the Archangel part is accurate, she sort of made the rest a bit more confusing.

Apparently, “X” is the unknown variable, whatever that means in relation to the name of a child. “Æ” symbolizes love or artificial intelligence. The A-12 meaning was correct and “Archangel” is also her favorite song. 2020 is the year of the rat in the Chinese Zodiac so that’s most likely what the rat emoji is for.
When someone replied and tried to address the elephant in the room that this is the name of an actual human child, Grimes added some more thoughts of her own.
I think it sounds like the name of the main character in the story ? I hope he vibes with that.

I wonder if when Grimes and Elon’s kid is older they’ll tell them that on the day they were born literally everyone in the world made fun of their given name. I don’t know… kind of sounds like a super villain origin story if you ask me.

Of course, it could be that Elon Musk and Grimes are just having some fun with the internet. They might be keeping the privacy and name of their child a secret. Only time will tell.
