Halsey celebrates her birthday with the intimate “929” video

Sept. 29, 2020 marks Halseys 26th birthday. In celebration of the special day, Halsey has unveiled a video for “929.”

The personal video offers insight into Halsey’s past 26 years with home movies, fan videos, tour footage and more.

“929” closes out Halsey’s recent album Manic and has quickly become a favorite amongst fans. The intimate song is a retelling of Halsey’s inner thoughts and past experiences as she skyrocketed to success over the years.

Now, Halsey is celebrating her 26th year of life with a personal new video for “929” which she surprise-dropped on Tuesday. She shares that the video is a present to her fans, a tradition she does for all of her birthdays.

“Honoring the tradition of presents for you on my birthday. Here’s a special music video for “929” you guys have made me who I am today.”

In the “929” video, fans get snapshots of Halsey’s, born Ashley Frangipane, childhood. Home movie footage is used throughout and shows Halsey as a mischievous toddler surrounded by family and a smiling child growing up in New Jersey.

The video also gives a nod to her early success and shows the singer with her iconic Badlands blue hair. The “929” video comes to a close with recent tour footage from Halsey’s Manic tour, her biggest set of shows to date.

On Monday, Halsey tweeted how overwhelmed she felt with the early birthday love she received.

As well, it looks like the “929” video isn’t the only present fans are getting this week. Halsey revealed that she has plenty in store for her birthday celebration.

The “929” video comes just hours after Machine Gun Kelly confirmed that he and Halsey are filming a video for “forget me too.” The track is their first collaboration together and is featured on MGK’s new album Tickets To My Downfall.

forget me too” has become one of the most popular songs on MGK’s new album. In fact, the Travis Barker-produced track is about to surpass 6 million streams on Spotify.
