Halsey confirms Bring Me The Horizon co-write on ‘Birds Of Prey’ track

Halsey seems to have put an end to the mystery surrounding the Instagram video she posted back in July of 2019. The video shows Halsey in the studio with Bring Me The Horizon‘s Oli Sykes and Jordan Fish. It seems now, the video is referencing her new song for the Birds Of Prey soundtrack “Experiment On Me.”

Bring Me The Horizon did, in fact, drop a Halsey collaboration on their recent Music To Listen To EP. Halsey’s new album Manic drops on Jan. 17, 2020.

To unpack the context of all of this, we need to head back to July of 2019. A Halsey/ Bring Me The Horizon collab was teased all the way back in July when Halsey posted the video below of her in the studio with some familiar voices in the background and tagged Sykes and Jordan Fish.

A few days after that, Sykes confirmed the two were in the studio together with a picture of his own.

Then Halsey took to Instagram and revealed the tracklisting for Manic and there was no Bring Me The Horizon collaboration.

“OK, the Bring Me The Horizon song,” Halsey begins. “I knew you guys were going to ask about that. It’s not on this album, but there’s two—well technically ‘two’ things. One and then something else that are coming out not on my album—for something else with Bring Me The Horizon. And then I have another collaboration with another friend of mine that’s coming out this year too, and I’m putting out so much music next year.”

Well, Bring Me The Horizon did drop an EP at the end of 2019 that features a track with Halsey. That is one thing. Now, it seems we’ve figured out what the other collaboration between the two is, thanks to an exchange on Twitter.

While interacting with fans, one asked about the video of Halsey in the studio.

I’m still wondering about the song you posted to Instagram questioning if it was too much !! I want another angry song. kinda like nightmare, Even tho I know it’s not on the album. is there something of that angst ??!

Halsey then cracked the code behind the video saying it was about a song she wrote with Bring Me The Horizon for Birds Of Prey: The Album.

Experiment on Me!!!! For the birds of prey soundtrack. Hands down craziest song I’ve ever recorded. By a landslide. And rightfully so for Harley!!!!!

A fan comment then had Halsey confirm that the song was never intended to be on Manic and was exclusively for Birds Of Prey.

Well, Birds Of Prey: The Album releases alongside the film on Feb. 07. The producers said they will be releasing more singles off the soundtrack until that date so we’ll just have to wait and see this awesome Halsey Bring Me The Horizon collaboration.
