Halsey clarifies if her pregnancy is really why her ‘Manic’ tour was canceled

Back in February 2020, Halsey kicked off her Manic World Tour in Madrid. Although she was able to complete the European and U.K. dates before the coronavirus pandemic hit, she was forced to postpone her North American tour. The Manic tour was set to resume this June. However, on Jan. 22, Halsey confirmed that the entire postponed tour has now been canceled as the pandemic continues to progress.

Shortly after, Halsey revealed that she is pregnant and expecting a child with boyfriend Alev Aydin. Now, Halsey is clearing up on if her pregnancy is the real reason why the Manic North American tour was canceled.

North American fans were greatly looking forward to the Manic tour for a number of reasons. Back in March, Halsey revealed that the Manic tour may have been her last tour for a “very long time.”

However, things quickly didn’t go to plan. In May, Halsey confirmed that the North American leg of the tour had been postponed to June 2021. Then, last week, Halsey announced that all of the dates have now been canceled.

“Safety is the priority. I wish things were different. I love you. Dreaming of seeing your faces again. @halseyteamhelp can answer specific questions.”

On Twitter, she called her baby “my rainbow,” which is in reference to her past struggles with reproductive health and miscarriages.

On Friday, she also shared a photo of her endometriosis scars. Back in 2017, she underwent a series of “terrifying surgeries” to help treat her endometriosis.

Following Halsey’s pregnancy news, some speculated that this may be the real reason her Manic tour dates were canceled. However, Halsey quickly shut down those rumors. In a tweet, she shares that the pandemic is the only reason she isn’t hitting the stage for the Manic tour this year.

“blahhhh. anyway. thanks for the love I’ve been bursting at the seams for the past 48 hours. it’s wonderful to celebrate something with you all after years of sharing all the sad stuff ;)”

“and just so we’re aware, if it wasn’t for Covid I woulda done the tour pregnant.”

Last year, Halsey told Zane Lowe how her experiences with reproductive health eventually inspired the emotional song “More.”

“I’ve been really open about struggling with reproductive health,” she says. “I’ve talked about wanting to freeze my eggs and having endometriosis and different kinds of like tragic experiences I’ve gone through on the subject of reproductive health. For a long time, I didn’t think that having a family was something I was going to be able to do in an effortless manner….

She [her doctor] told me that because of my treatment, the steps that I was taking to better myself and the steps that she was implementing as a medical professional put me in a position where it was looking like I could start a family at some point should that be something that I want to do which she knows it’s something I very much want to do. I was really moved by the information because it wasn’t something I thought was a possibility for a really long time.”

The conversation starts at around 48:50 in the interview.

2021 has already been a big year for Halsey. Back in December, she began teasing some cryptic clues regarding an upcoming announcement. Then, earlier this month, she dropped her new makeup line about-face that is a true nod to the emo makeup looks of our Myspace days.

Halsey told Byrdie that about-face is a nod to the scene queen days of the past. For her, about-face is a community that welcomes outcasts and rebels like the ones she saw throughout her teenage days. Ultimately, this makeup line is a true nod to all of the Myspace-era emos out there.

“I feel like I never really see makeup anymore that’s about being fucked up and dirty and grungy and just wrong, and so much makeup used to be about that,” she says. “I’m just paying homage to the style of makeup and the makeup influences that I’ve always loved: very ’90s-heavy, very Myspace scene queen, very emo revival.”

Before 2020 came to a close, Halsey revealed that she has plenty of surprises in store for 2021. Along with her makeup collection and starring role in Sing 2, Halsey announced that she three more big surprises on the way for fans.
