Halsey urges celebrities to stop staying silent about George Floyd

A number of prominent artists are continuing to voice their opinions about the death of George Floyd. Floyd was tragically killed by police after one of the four police officers involved in his arrest knelt on his neck in an incident caught on video

Numerous protests are breaking out and investigations into his death have been launched. Many artists and other prominent figures are calling for the four officers involved to be charged with murder. Halsey has been very vocal about her thoughts on the matter. She’s even taken to calling out other artists and for people to unfollow her.

The four officers involved were fired on May 26. The incident saw the main officer in question kneeling on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. He can be heard saying the words “I can’t breathe” while the officer continues planting his knee into his neck.

George Floyd was a member of Houston’s hip-hop community prior to moving to Minneapolis. He worked with prominent artists in the city’s scene including the Screwed Up Click which was led by late icon DJ Screw.

A number of prominent hip-hop artists such as Ice Cube, Machine Gun Kelly, Ice-T, Cardi B and Meek Mill are all speaking out about Floyd’s tragic killing.
