Following sexual misconduct allegations against Brand New's Jesse Lacey, fans have been at war with themselves on how to cope. Some are choosing to throw out their merch while others are ridding themselves of the Brand New songs in their music library. For those who have the band permanently inked onto their skin, forgetting can be an impossible task.

Tattooist Harriet Heath has decided to offer a kind gesture in what feels like a dark time in the music industry by offering to cover up your Brand New tatts.

On Dec 2 in Manchester, Harriet Heath of Tooth and Talon Tattoo is offering to do cover ups of Brand New tattoos in exchange for a donation to Rape Crisis England and Wales

“I feel so much sympathy for those who feel sick to their stomachs having his words on their bodies and want to be rid of them” Heath writes on her Instagram. “I would like to give priority on this day to those who have been affected by sexual assault, for whom this news causes extra pain to. When you contact me you can simply add a #metooto the email and I will do my best to fit you in on the day.”

Heath understands that she may not be able to fit everyone in on the day, so she's offering to do coverups at a reduced rate for the rest of December.

As a gesture of goodwill and to try to make something positive come out of a terrible situation, on December 2nd at @toothandtalontattoo I will be doing cover ups of any tattoos of Brand New band lyrics in exchange for a donation to @rapecrisisew I feel so much sympathy for those who feel sick to their stomachs having his words on their bodies and want to be rid of them. I would like to give priority on this day to those who have been affected by sexual assault, for whom this news causes extra pain to. When you contact me you can simply add a #metoo to the email and I will do my best to fit you in on the day. I am expecting a high level of emails and there’s only so much I can do in a day due to the nature of coverup work. Some coverups also may not be possible or would require a full day sitting or simply won’t work in my style so this will also have a bearing on what I can accept on the day as I want you to be able to get the best possible job. Therefore for the rest of the month of December I will be offering to do the coverups at a slightly reduced rate from what I would normally charge. For all enquiries please email me on [email protected] with a clear photo of your current tattoo, and a description of what you would like to have over it in an ideal world. Also please let me know if you’re available on the 2nd December in Manchester and I’ll get back to you all in a few days.
