‘Harry Potter’-inspired café joins Josh Balz’s oddities shop

Former Motionless in White keyboardist Josh Balz has recently shared that his oddities shop, The Strange And Unusual, will welcome a brand-new Harry Potter café. The installation in question will open today, April 25 at 3 p.m. at the Kingston, PA location.

The café will feature New York City coffee shop favorite, Steamy Hallows.

The interior looks like something straight out of the wizarding universe and features drinks such as Love Potion #9 3/4 and the company’s famous ButterBeer latte.

On the addition, Balz says he wants to connect with fellow Harry Potter aficionados.

“I want people to come in and take photos,” Bals says in a story with local news outlet Citizens’ Voice. “It’s like if you were in a café in Hogwarts or Diagon Alley. I want a superfan to come in and say, ‘This is amazing. This is everything I ever wanted.’”

However, Balz continues on to say that he always had a vision for the café in his shop.

“Since I got this building, I thought this would be a really good spot for a little café first and then the store.” Balz continues. “My whole vibe is Harry Potter so it went hand in hand that this was the way to go.”

Additionally, to celebrate the café’s opening, Balz made a perfect reference to a fan that was amazed by the recent addition.

In a recent interview, Balz talked about his life after Motionless In White. In addition to his oddity shops, Balz also revealed he is sporadically working on a solo project in between being a production designer and his latest collaboration with a wine company.
