The internet thinks Harry Styles is joining ‘Eternals’ as Thanos’ brother

Earlier this week, new theories emerged on the web that have both Harry Styles and Marvel fans excited.

Fans are convinced that Styles is playing Thanos‘ brother Starfox in Marvel’s upcoming film Eternals.

Outside of his chart-topping music, Styles made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan‘s war drama Dunkirk in 2017. Then, earlier this month, it was revealed that he is acting alongside Florence Pugh, Dakota Johnson and Chris Pine in Olivia Wilde‘s psychological thriller Don’t Worry, Darling.

Now, fans are convinced that Styles is starring as Starfox in Eternals. This week, fans unveiled various clues that point to Styles’ potential appearance in the highly-awaited Phase 4 film.

To start, the “Watermelon Sugar” singer recently followed two of the main actors in EternalsGemma Chan and Richard Madden – on Instagram. Fans think this is one cryptic way Styles is confirming his role in the film.

Perhaps the biggest clue, however, comes from podcast host Kris Tapley. Journalist Justin Kroll reported on Styles’ casting announcement in Don’t Worry, Darling last week. In the tweet, he refers to Don’t Worry, Darling as Styles’ “first acting gig since Dunkirk.”

However, Tapley quickly corrected the journalist and seemingly confirmed that Styles is acting in Eternals. In the now-deleted tweet, he said, “Second if we’re counting the Marvel movie no one knows he’s in.”

As well, back in September, Madden told GQ Britain that plenty of actors in Eternals have not been announced yet.

“I always get starstruck,” he said. “And there are some more actors yet to be announced in that lineup which is gonna be crazy.”

At this time, neither a rep for Styles or Marvel has confirmed or denied these theories. However, if history repeats itself, all of this could be just like those Little Mermaid reports. Last year, it was reported that Styles was playing Prince Eric in the live-action Disney remake. A rep for Styles later confirmed, however, he passed on the role much to the disappointment of fans everywhere.

As well, it may be a while before fans get the chance to see Eternals in theaters. Disney is reportedly facing even more delays with Marvel Phase 4 amid the coronavirus pandemic. On Tuesday, it was reported that a new release date for Black Widow is being considered. For now, the film is set to premiere on Nov. 6.
