CNN reported the prequel as, “young James Potter, the titular boy wizard's father, and his best friend Sirius Black, who come across two “muggle” (or non-magic) policemen following a high-speed chase.”

Rowling took to Twitter this morning exclaiming to fans not to purchase the rare item if they were offered it.

This short prequel story was written for English PEN which works “to defend and promote freedom of expression, and to remove barriers to literature,” along with a charity supporting Dyslexia.

At the bottom of the card is Rowling's signature along with a short message that writes, “From the prequel I am not working on — but that was fun!”

West Midlands Investigating Officer PC Paul Jauncey issued the following statement, “The only people who will buy this unique piece are true Harry Potter fans. We are appealing to anyone who sees, or is offered this item for sale ,to contact police.”

The robbery occured between Apr. 13 and Apr. 24.
