Hatebreed frontman enlists Killswitch Engage singer, more for Jasta album
Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta has unveiled members of bands such as Killswitch Engage, Biohazard and more for an upcoming album for his project Jasta.
Jasta’s last release was 2017’s The Lost Chapters, and the new record will seemingly appear on the second volume of the same name.

Featured on the record will be Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage, Howard Jones of Light The Torch (previously KSE as well) and Billy Graziadei of Biohazard, BillyBio and Powerflo.
Charlie Bellmore and Christopher Taylor Beaudette, who have collaborated with the Hatebreed frontman’s project in the past, will appear yet again on the new music.
Jasta posted some scenes from the studio to his Instagram, which you can see screenshots of below.

Back in July, Deftones announced the lineup for their second annual Dia De Los Deftones festival featuring CHVRCHES, Gojira and more.
However, Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta voiced his opinions on the lineup order, not agreeing with having CHVRCHES listed as second on the bill.
“Who is churches with a v and why the fuck are they playing over Gojira get tha fuuuuuck outtta here have you ever heard The Heaviest Matter In The Universe you’re gonna get embarrassed off the stage lol no offense. God the music industry suckkkkks sometimes.”
He then added, “Update: googled Churches w/ a v, they gotta be huge they did a song with a guy w/ a Marshmallow mask and people LOOOOOVE IT. Good for them.”

CHVRCHES vocalist Lauren Mayberry retweeted Jasta’s remark adding one of her own.
“Deftones curated the lineup so I don’t know how that speaks to problems with The Music Industry. I think it’s important and powerful that they promote the idea of a diverse community and try to bridge gaps instead of being guided by limiting, antiquated ideas about genre.”

The back-and-forth continued, although Jasta didn’t reply to Mayberry directly.

Then, a few weeks ago, CHVRCHES vocalist Lauren Mayberry revealed Gojira sent them a merch package after the ordeal.
Mayberry spoke to NME about the incident and how Twitter seemed to agree with Mayberry’s comments on inclusivity in rock.
“I thought it was really cool because it just showed that kind of thinking in the metal community isn’t stood for any more,” Mayberry says. “And Gojira actually sent us a merch package so we got a crap tonne of Gojira t-shirts. That was really nice. It reflects the community and informs the community. I just didn’t understand. I was like, ‘That’s not what Deftones has ever been about’.”
Her bandmate Martin Doherty agreed.
“Who cares really? I mean, that guy. We’re living in different universes. What’s even the point in taking a swipe like that? I’ve been listening to Deftones since 1998 and they were always an alternative metal band. I wasn’t a huge metal fan but I was a massive Deftones fan. I think that anyone who’s narrow-minded like that totally misses the point of the band, as far as I can see.”
Dia De Los Deftones takes place Nov. 2 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. You can check out the lineup below.
