Steinfeld will play Kate Bishop, the daughter of the titular character played by Jeremy Renner. He also will star in the series that focuses on their father-daughter relationship.

Bishop will be apart of the Young Avengers and take after her father Clint Barton. It’s assumed that by the end of the series, Steinfeld’s character will be the new Hawkeye and appear in future movies.

According to Variety, Steinfeld is the only actor who was offered the role but has not officially accepted.

Marvel previously unveiled the series at San Diego Comic-Con, where we first learned that Bishop would be introduced. However, the show won’t hit Disney+ until 2021, but if this casting works out, we’re so excited to see it.

After learning Spider-Man would be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe if Sony and Disney couldn’t reach a deal, fans have been holding out something would keep him around.

Sadly, Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra has admitted that “the door is closed” on the web-slinger returning.

It was earlier reported that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will no longer produce future spidey films due to the inability of the companies to “reach new terms that would have given (Sony) a co-financing stake going forward.”

The last two films Feige produced with Spider-Man, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, both broke records.

There are two more Spider-Man films in the works directed by Jon Watts and again starring Tom Holland. However, Feige won’t be the lead creative producer.

Sony later released a statement saying they were disappointed about the decision but understand it.

Then, Vinciquerra told Variety that for the time being no deal will be made to keep Spider-Man around the MCU.

“For the moment the door is closed,” Vinciquerra says before clarifying there is “no ill will” between Sony and Marvel and hinting there could be a possible resolution in the future.

“We had a great run with [Feige] on Spider-Man movies,” Vinciquerra said.

“We tried to see if there’s a way to work it out… the Marvel people are terrific people. We have great respect for them, but on the other hand we have some pretty terrific people of our own. Kevin didn’t do all the work.”
