The vocalist posted three mysterious black squares on Instagram overnight sparking theories that the music will soon be here, and now she’s released the first look at what’s to come.
Earlier today, fans spotted a poster of Williams and the phrase “Petals For Armor” around the U.S. including New York City and her Nashville hometown.

Fans immediately headed to the site on the poster, petalsforarmor.com. When first accessed, the site played a GIF, which already sparked some fan theories.

on the petals for armor website there’s a gif with white text in the corner and if you look very closely you can see black text that CLEARLY says paramore so i think this 100% confirms an album drop. pic.twitter.com/bNqskUaHcy

Fans also pointed out an Instagram page has already been started with the name, which might suggest its the name of the new project. The first post is from Oct. 25, two months before Williams confirmed the project, which you can see below.
The account, which Williams follows, has shared various images of flowers since its first post in October. Last night, it mimicked Williams’ three black squares across the feed. It also posted the video seen on Williams’ feed.
The title and imagery are interesting given a post Williams made earlier this week of the protagonist of Midsommar. The singer took to her Instagram story to share three photos of the climax of the film where Dani, portrayed by Florence Pugh, takes her throne. With this is a flower-covered headdress that, if you’ve seen the film, you’ll understand why it could be viewed as an armor-like material as Williams’ new era suggests.

Now, just after 5 p.m. ET, the three black squares teased last night have returned in Williams’ latest post, which only teases a mere five seconds of what’s to come. A camera focuses on the moon as it moves through the woods before a gasp is let out.
The clip ends with the date Jan. 22, which we can assume means that’s when the vocalist will be sharing her first new music.
If you access the video from Williams’ Instagram story, there’s a swipe up to the same Petals For Armor site with the same clip.
Is it the name of the new song? A new album? The new project’s name? Only time will tell.
Check out the teaser below.
