Hear Descendents call out Donald Trump in new song "That's The Breaks"

In just six days, Donald Trump is leaving the White House as Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. In anticipation of the upcoming event, Descendents are officially saying goodbye to Donald Trump’s presidency.

This week, Descendents released their new song “That’s The Breaks.” In just 43 seconds, the band manage to bid farewell to Trump, his Twitter account and even his tiny hands in the new Trump-trashing track.

Descendents have used their music and platform to truly convey how they feel about the current President Of The United States. Just before the 2020 general election, Descendents dropped the two-song single Suffrage that features “On You” and “Hindsight 2020.

After the 2016 presidential election, Descendents frontman Milo Aukerman told Brooklyn Vegan that he found himself unable to write about anything else.

“I’ve spent most of my punk rock life avoiding the temptation to write political songs; it always seemed like politics is the obvious go-to subject of punk and thus not of interest to me,” he said. “Unfortunately, after the 2016 U.S. Presidential election I find myself virtually unable to write songs about anything else.”

As a result, the band have a slew of politically-charged songs waiting to be released. “Hindsight 2020” directly references Trump and his MAGA supporters, calling the 2016 election and the events that followed “a mistake.”

Now, Descendents are saying goodbye to the Trump presidency in “That’s The Breaks.” The fast-paced, 43-second song includes a number of call-outs to the president. With the inauguration right around the corner, Aukerman thought now was a good time to release the song.

Loser. Big time loser. Delusional loser. SORE loser. The time has come. The time is now.  Just go, go, GO. I don’t care how. Donald J. Trump, will you please go now,” Auckerman says. “What’s it gonna take?  A gazillion dollars? (Oh wait, you already grifted that from supporters)… A get out of jail free card? (Only if our judicial system totally fails us)… A wooden stake through the heart? Whatever we can do to make you go away, we need to do it. And I don’t mean just leave the White House, I mean crawl back into your hole of hate and live out the rest of your life as a nobody. A loser. Because that’s what you are.  Worst. President. Ever.”

Throughout “That’s The Breaks,” Descendents seemingly reference Trump’s Twitter ban, his “small hands, small mind” and even the events that have led to his current impeachment trial.
