Here are all of the collabs on Taylor Swift's surprise album 'evermore'

Taylor Swift is truly here to save 2020. It’s been less than five months since her surprise album folklore made its debut and quickly topped the charts.

Now, Swift has confirmed that her surprise ninth studio album evermore is arriving at midnight eastern time on Thursday, Dec. 10. As well, she has teamed up with some familiar faces for the new LP.

After the release of folklore in July, the album quickly topped the charts and is now the highest-selling album of 2020. According to the Wall Street Journal, the LP has sold 1.95 million copies in the United States this year.

For the album, Swift teamed up with Jack Antonoff (Bleachers, fun.) and the National‘s Aaron Dessner to write and produce the album. As well, folklore includes a collab with Bon Iver on “exile.”

Just last month, folklore earned a couple of Grammy nominations including Song Of The Album, Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance. In total, Swift, Dessner and Antonoff walked away with six total nominations. This feat is impressive considering Swift’s last two albums – Lover and Reputation – were largely shut out of Grammy nominations.

Given the success of folklore, her first classified alternative release, it’s no surprise that Swift isn’t wasting any time putting out even more new music. On Thursday, she confirmed that her ninth studio album is arriving at midnight eastern time.

Dubbed as folklore‘s “sister record,” Swift teamed up with Dessner, Antonoff and William Bowery to create evermore. As we learned in Swift’s recent folklore special on Disney+, Bowery is actually her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

Since the release of folklore, fans have been speculating who Swift could collaborate with in the future. As it turns out, evermore includes even more new features. Bon Iver joins Swift on another new duet called “evermore.” The new song helps close out the surprise record.

As well, Dessner’s band the National appear on the song “coney island.” Swift and Haim also collaborated on the new track “no body, no crime.” Swift and the sister trio have been friends for years so it’s not too surprising to see them make an appearance on evermore.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” Swift says. “To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.”

In multiple Instagram post, Swift reveals that she and her collaborators just couldn’t stop writing new music. As a result, she decided to put out evermore sooner rather than later. With her 31st birthday arriving on Dec. 13, she felt releasing evermore was the perfect way to celebrate the event.

“Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now,” Swift continues. “You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I thought I would give you something!”

Amidst finding the time to write and record evermore, Swift is also re-recording her first five albums. Last week, fans got their first taste of the re-recordings in an unexpected way. Ryan Reynolds recently wrote a Satan love story commercial for Match.com that features Swift’s 2020 recording of “Love Story.”
