Here’s how Trapt are handling more social media accounts getting deleted

This week, Facebook deleted Trapt‘s Facebook page after a particular post received a bunch of hate speech reports.

Now, it looks like both Trapt’s and frontman Chris Taylor Brown‘s Instagram accounts have been removed as well.

For the past few years, Trapt’s frontman Chris Taylor Brown has used the band’s social media pages as a way to promote their music and his support for Donald Trump. Earlier this year, he went on a pro-Trump rant at the start of the pandemic and eventually started a slew of social media beef with Ice TDanny Diablo and more.

This week, however, Facebook decided to take action against the following post that Brown shared on all of Trapt’s social media accounts.

“We do! POYB! Come join the fun on the Parler app! Follow me @CTBTraptParler We will never be censored over there! Trapt FB, IG and Twitter become music only once this election is certified! It’s totally okay if those social media sites are only about escape, distraction, and lies.”

Multiple Facebook users reportedly flagged the content for violating the platform’s community standards and spreading hate speech.

Eventually, the post got enough reports that Facebook decided to do something about it. Trapt’s entire account has since been deleted from the platform. Prior to its removal, Trapt’s Facebook page had 596,000 likes (which is more than the number of people that allegedly bought their new album in its first week).

On Nov. 19, Brown said that he is planning to sue Facebook for deleting the band’s account.

“For posting this pic and saying the same thing in the post, Facebook has completely deleted the TRAPT FB account. They said don’t use the phrase “Proud Boys.” I specifically told FB trapt fans that I could not say the name. I will be suing Facebook. Was also a post about Parler.”

Now, it looks like both Brown and Trapt’s Instagram accounts have also been removed. Trapt’s Instagram cannot be found when searched on the platform. As well, Brown calmly took to their still-standing Twitter page to announce his personal Instagram has also been deleted.

“Damn, Facebook also deleted my personal Instagram profile which I don’t post anything but pics of me & my girl Wonder if they will delete my personal FB musician page too. I haven’t even used that one in a while. FB really has it out for me. Thankful for Parler @CTBTraptParler”

The fact that both of their Instagrams were deleted is not particularly surprising seeing as Facebook owns Instagram. However, this just means Brown will probably be more active on Twitter and Parler than ever before.
